When she orders the beheading of the cards that painted her roses red, the crowd cheers, and she looks very pleased that she made this decision and that the crowd approves of it. She reminds Alice at one point, "If I lose my temper, you lose your head," indicating that she is fully aware of her power and wants everyone else to as well. The Queen of Hearts seems to enjoy her anger management problems in a way. Her immediate solution to every problem is beheading whether her roses have been planted white, she misses a shot in croquet or feels insulted in any way. Like any insane person, she has huge uncontrollable mood swings, from content to enraged at a moment's notice. She is very egotistical, as she likes to hear the words "Yes, Your Majesty" and insists that "All ways are my ways!" She is also shown to be a rather childish character, even in the face of Alice, as she is incredibly impatient, irrationally sensitive, prone to temper tantrums, and, as stated above, rather egotistical. All the residents of Wonderland are mad (insane) in some way, but the Queen of Hearts is the most dangerous of them all by being the ruler of the land. The Queen of Hearts has a very psychotic personality. Atop the queen's head is a small, gold crown, signifying her authority. Beneath her gown are a pair of white bloomers with a red heart pattern, and she wears red heels on her feet. She dresses in a black-and-red gown with black-and-yellow stripes. She has fair skin, black eyes, and black hair tied in the back with a red headband. The obese Queen of Hearts has a massive physique (which, in turn, makes her physically powerful). Muse Garden is a beautiful old art form that dates back to the first century B.C. Best Free of Lead and Other Hazardous Compounds: Muse Garden, Hand Blown Glass Ruby was developed and tested by bird specialists with the health of hummingbirds in mind. The integrated ant moat keeps ants away from the nectar, retaining it fresh for hungry hummingbirds. Hummingbirds feed readily from the four bee guard openings while bees and wasps are stopped. The Hummingbird Feeder is designed with soft openings and an attached perch to enhance all hummingbird species’ eating angle and comfort. The red color on the top and bottom attracts more hummingbirds for it’s their favorite color. It has a nectar volume of 10 oz, ensuring that hummingbirds are satisfied and return for more nectar from the Ruby feeder. This feeder is devoid of BPA and recyclable. Hummingbird feeders come in various forms and sizes, and it can be challenging to choose which is the best. However, if you want to attract hummingbirds, you must install an effective hummingbird feeder. And, because watching them may be a relaxing way to pass the time, it’s unsurprising that hummingbird feeding is so popular. Hummingbirds add a playful, occasionally beautiful touch to a landscape with high-speed airborne acrobatics. As most of us are familiar, hummingbirds like nectar, and hence your standard bird feeder will not suffice if there is no nectar in it. However, Homer refers to him as as the son of Eioneus, so the child’s parentage isn’t exactly clear. The child was named Rhesus and when he grew up, he became the famous king of Thrace. Euterpe’s OffspringĮuterpe was said to have been unmarried, but according to the Iliad, she did have a son by Strymon, the powerful river god. Euterpe, The Muse of music and lyric poetry holding a flute. The flute, the panpipes (another wind instrument) and the laurel wreath she usually wears are all symbols associated with the goddess of lyric poetry. She’s often depicted as a beautiful young woman, holding a flute in one hand. It’s also said that Euterpe invented most of the other wind instruments as well. It’s said that she invented the double flute, also known as the aulos, but some sources say that it was created by Athena, the goddess of wisdom, or the satyr, Marsyas. Euterpe’s SymbolsĮuterpe was a highly popular deity among mortals and was often called the ‘Giver of Delight’ by the poets of ancient Greece. However, Euterpe and her sisters actually lived on Mount Olympus with their father Zeus and the other Olympian deities. It was the place where they made offerings to the Muses. The springs were sacred to the Muses as was Mount Helicon and it became the primary place of worship that was frequently visited by mortals. According to the myths, the springs were created when the winged horse, Pegasus, stamped its hooves hard on the ground. In some accounts, Euterpe and the other eight Muses were referred to as water nymphs that were born from the four sacred springs located upon Mount Helicon. Other reasons included social confidence or lack of interest in paper to pencil tasks. Parents often chose the "gift of time" if they felt their child was not emotionally mature enough or able to be independent enough to go to kindergarten. Social skills and parental intuition matter a whole lot. Just because children can read doesn't mean they're necessarily ready for kindergarten. It no longer feels like children are "being held back" and feels more like they've been given "the gift of time." Since my first year teaching TK, aka transitional kindergarten, I've come to shift my view. I had not yet had children of my own and wanted to know the motivation behind "keeping their kids back a year." I'm talking about kids coming in counting to 100, writing simple words, and reading short books, all coming in to Transitional Kindergarten which feeds into kindergarten.Īs a new teacher in 2010, I asked them why they made this choice. Ive seen many children enrolled in this extra year of school even when extremely academically advanced. I've taught transitional kindergarten for a number of years and have seen a number of scenarios.
I have no idea why but before this audiobook I'd never had the pleasure of listening to Amanda Ronconi. While listening to NEVER HAVE I EVER I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. Their banter was absolutely delightful and funny. She was Zach's perfect match in every way and I loved how she loved his kids. Clever, astute, full of humor and a big heart. You know how widowers are often times still grieving the passing of their wives in romance? This was such a refreshing take with Zach being over it and emotional ready for a new relationship. With his kids and Piper he was a big ole softie, albeit one with a sexy mouth. He was a shark alright but only for his clients. I loved that Zach was a divorce lawyer, not because he was bitter but because he wanted to help women get out of a marriage without being taken advantage of or being threatened by their former spouses. This book was easy to listen to and I enjoyed it lots! If you're looking for a great enemies to lovers that's got just the right amount of feels, pick this one up. It's fun, flirty, sweet, and entertaining. I haven't read a ton by Lauren Blakely, but I love her writing style. Amanda Ronconi did a fantastic job with Piper's voice. Jason Clarke is quickly becoming one of my favorite male narrators. I read this book in audio format and it was a joy to listen to. Their relationship changed so organically and without any unnecessary drama. Piper is one of those heroines you can't help but love and Zach is truly incredible as a single dad and all around good guy. I loved the build up and banter between Piper and Zach. Their enemies turns to friends, and that turns into so much more. Piper fits into Zach's life and adores his kids. These two are oil and water together, and it seems like they would make the most impossible pairing, but the more time they spend together, the more they realize they just fit. Zach is a widower with 2 amazing children and Piper is still single. Years later, they're still in the same crowd and work in the same building. Piper is a wedding planner and Zach is a divorce attorney who is happily married. Piper and Zach hung out with the same crowd in college, but they never quite got along. Second chances don’t come around for guys like me…or do they?įrienemies to lovers, single dad, and fantastic narration. The last thing I need is a vibrant, outgoing, snarky, and surprisingly big-hearted wedding planner to spend my precious free time with…except, watching Piper bond with my daughter just might break down the cinder block walls I’ve built around my heart these last few years. My goals are simple - fight till the end for my clients, and my family. Trouble is, when we’re forced into closer quarters planning an engagement party for our best friends, I start to see his other sides. Call it the battle of wits between the wedding planner and the divorce attorney. The too-good-looking, too-smart, too-effortlessly charming single dad who works down the hall from me has turned getting under my skin into a sport. Because every single time I talk to Zach Nolan, I see red. They say opposites attract, but I beg to differ. Never have I ever been so infuriated by a man I wanted to kiss. Falling for the enemy has never been so deliciously complicated in this standalone romance where a sexy single dad meets his unexpected match! Get ready for all the feels! The app supports Markdown for previewing, but doesn’t color code it in the editor and its formatting controls won’t insert Markdown elements when you’re writing Markdown.
